I think specifically the one where the students help make blankets for a need in homeless shelters would really appeal to my students. They like doing hands-on activities where they can see a physical result.
Service Activity (Tutoring) + Instructional Strategies (Develop and teach a lesson plan = Develop lesson plans to tutor struggling readers
Reduce teen smoking/vaping + Discuss the health risks of smoking and vaping= Launch an anti-vaping campaign using promotional fliers and videos
Planning and starting a community garden + researching the food scarcity in the area = connecting with local organizations to promote the community gardening and opening it to those in need.
(younger ages) Painting/tagging/distributing Kindness rocks + developing social/emotional awareness = tracking your own local kindness rock project & identifying reach/impact
Art auction (silent) campaign on an inclusion focus anti bullying
Grandpal program- club members, make cards, write letters, and collect donations for local senior centers
Research the number of car accidents in the community due to texting and driving +Develop a PSA for radio stations/news outlets.= To reduce the number of people texting and driving.
Schedule regular visits to a local veterans home + research wars that the residents have faught in = develop an appreciation for our veterans and the service they have provided
